Hilary Bio/quick facts:
 

Born Hilary Erhard Duff in Texas on September 28 1987. Her parents Bob Duff, an owner of a chain of Texas convenience stores, and Susan Duff, housewife turned film and music producer. Hilary was the second of two children. Taking after her older sis, Haylie, Hilary begain ballet classes and auditioning for local theatrical productions. Hilary got her first work at age 6 when she was cast with Haylie in a BalletMet Columbus production of The Nutcracker Suite in San Antonio. In 1993 the family moved to California so both girls could actively pursue acting careers. Making this easier was the decision to begin homeschooling Hilary at the age of 8.

Hilary's first major break came in 1998 when she got the role of Wendy in a made-for-TV movie Casper Meets Wendy. In 2000 Hilary had a short lived role on the NBC sitcom Daddio but after the pilot was dropped from the series by its producers. Although discouraged she didn't have to wait long for her next role to come. Within a week she had been cast to play the title character in the new Disney series Lizzie McGuire.

The series only ran for 65 episodes over two seasons. However in 2003 Hilary reprised the role in The Lizzie McGuire Movie. Because of the success of both the series and the movie Disney cast Hilary to play in their movie Cadet Kelly and released an album Santa Claus Lane for the company's music label. There were talks of extending the Lizzie McGuire franchise but pay disputes could not be settled.

Hilary still kept busy in 2003 with the movies Agent Cody Banks, and Cheaper by the Dozen. After which she released her first non-Disney Album titled Metamorphosis. Which also showed off her and her sister's song writing skills.

In 2004 Hilary starred in A Cinderella Story, and Raise Your Voice. Both of which had minimal to no box office success. Her self titled album earned her platinum certification and she launched her own fashion line, Stuff by Duff, which was massly distributed through Target and Kmart. After which she launched a fashion line for DKNY Jeans called Femme.

In an attempt in 2005 to move away from 'tween fare into a more serious adult actress hilary starred along side Heather Locklear in The Perfect Man. Then in Material Girls with Haylie Duff in 2006. Unfortunately neither film did very well with movie audiences.

In 2007 Hilary released her fourth studio album entitled Dignity. It was praised for offering a more mature, adult sound than any of her previous albums. However Hilary only co wrote one of the songs. In 2008 Hilary opted not to take the role in the reboot of 90210 as she was trying to move into a more mature image. Later that same year she appeared in War Inc alongside John Cusack.

In her continued efforts to be seen as a more serious actress she went on to star in the indie drama According to Greta. Then the comedic drama Stay Cool in 2009. 2010 saw her cast alongside Val Kilmer and Kris Kristofferson in Bloodworth, and later was featured in the 2012 comedy She Wants Me.

Between movie roles Hilary has also made several guest appearances on alot of today's hit television shows. Including; Two and a Half Men, Gossip Girl, Community, Raising Hope, and Law & Order: Special Victims Unit. She also had a role in a 2010 TV movie Beauty & the Briefcase.

Outside of her career, Hilary involves herself with charities especially focusing on rights of animals and children. Hilary also donated to the victims of Hurricane Katrina and encouraged fans to donate.
